Terms of use

India AI Safety Network (IASN) is an independent, non-profit community based in India. We are volunteers. We are not a company, a university or a government body, and nothing on this site speaks for any organisation that our members belong to.

You may read, link to and share anything on this site for personal, educational or non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Submit forms with false information or on behalf of someone else without their permission.
• Use automated tools to submit forms or to scrape the site in a way that burdens it.
• Try to interfere with the site, its hosting or the services behind it.
• Use the site for anything unlawful.

When you submit the newsletter or join form, we use what you send to do what the form says: send you a welcome note or the newsletter, and keep you posted about reading groups, talks, convenings, research and opportunities. How we handle that information is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Joining the network is free and open. It is not a membership contract, and either of us can end it at any time: you by emailing us, and we by removing anyone who behaves in a way that harms the community.

Reading groups, events and our social accounts are run by IASN volunteers. Be honest, be kind, and give credit. Anyone who harasses others, spams, or shares material they do not have the right to share may be removed from any of them without notice.

The writing, drawings and design on this site belong to India AI Safety Network unless stated otherwise. You may quote from the site with attribution. The reading list points to work by other people, which belongs to them and is subject to their own terms.

We try to keep the site accurate and up to date, but it is written by volunteers and things change. The content is for general information. It is not legal, financial, career or professional advice, and you should not rely on it as such.

The site links to readings, courses, jobs and organisations run by other people. We include them because we think they are useful, not because we endorse everything on them. We are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or how they handle your data.

The site is provided as it is, without any warranty that it will be available, accurate or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on anything on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that we cannot settle by talking will be subject to the courts of India.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
