About
India AI Safety Network is an open, independent community for people in India who want advanced AI to go well, for India and for everyone else.
India will live with the consequences of advanced AI. It should help decide how it is built and governed.
Most research, debate and policy on AI safety happens in a handful of places abroad. India has an enormous number of people who could contribute, from engineers and scientists to lawyers, economists and public servants, and very few ways for them to find the field or each other.
We want to change that. Make it easy to start learning, easy to find others doing the same, and possible to do research and policy work that is taken seriously.
How we work
Open to everyone
Taking part doesn’t depend on your degree, your job title or where you live.
Independent
We decide our own programmes, our own research questions and what we publish.
Public by default
We publish what we run, who takes part and what comes out of it.
Clear about selection
Anything with limited places says how people will be chosen before it opens.
